The Business

AGVE is a company that provides AGV solutions. Since 1985 we have delivered over 2500 AGV vehicles for various clients in sectors such as industrial or pharmaceutical and logistics throughout the world. Our development and manufacturing is based in Gothenburg, where we also run our sales, project implementation and after-sales for the Nordic market. Outside the Nordic region, we undertake sales, project implementation and after sales through our subsidiaries in the USA, Germany, Holland, UK and South Korea, as well as through global material handling companies, Vanderlande, Siemens and Swisslog.

The business is largely project-based where AGVE carries out the mechanical and electrical design, electronic design, software programming, and installation and commissioning of AGV systems.

Your future role

We need to expand our software organization in Gothenburg with a systems engineer to work with the five existing employees in the system group to implement systems installation and support of existing systems.

A systems engineer at AGVE works in three main areas:

  • – Vehicle programming – i.e. development of BASE software and configuration of the movement of the vehicle and layout as required
  • – Traffic management and control system – i.e. development of BASE software that controls the AGVs and order management and integration with the client’s system software.
  • – Inventory System (WMS) – i.e. development of BASE software to control inventory, to set-up and integrate with higher level customer systems and to integrate with our traffic management system software to manage the flow of material. As a systems engineer at AGVE we expect you to be able to work on all three of these areas. As you develop, your work will be split as follows: 25% BASE software development at AGVE, 25% configuring and implementing customer projects at AGVE, 50% project implementation at customers’ site. The majority of our customers are in Northern Europe. However, we implement projects from as far afield as Australia to the United States.

The successful candidate will have the following characteristics:

Good technical understanding and interest in automation and a desire to learn more
Ability to work both individually and in teams
Flexibility and the ability to perform well in novel situations
To be analytical and solution-oriented

Formal qualifications

Engineering degree (minimum 3years at University) in relevant areas of expertise.
It may also be possible to work part-time during the last part of the studies.
