Side loader AGVs are specialised versions of forklifts, commonly used for loads that would be unstable on a standard forklift, such as long and bulky cargo including pipes, steel beams, and profiles. They are particularly well suited for placing goods in racking systems at medium to high lift heights. These vehicles are especially advantageous in environments where flexibility is required, for example where tasks change frequently. Side loaders are available in a wide range of designs, sizes, load capacities, and load handling technologies to accommodate different operational needs. They can also be equipped with various motion technologies, such as quad-directional motion, to improve maneuverability in confined spaces and narrow aisles.
